The Cigna Take Control service is not designed to be a substitute for a regular doctor visit but more of a compliment that empowers the patient to learn more about their health through education. For example eating the right foods (i.e. blueberries, spinach, oatmeal) and exercising daily (i.e. running, lifting weights) are important for maintaining healthy blood pressure, and reducing ones risk for heart disease, dementia, obesity, stroke and kidney disease (basically one would be crazy not to eat right and work out a few times a week).
